Ukraine is a known good ground for technology companies and FinTech entrepreneurs. The Ukrainian FinTech LEO International Payment System a/k/a LeoGaming (www.leogaming.ua) of Alona Shevtsova announced the operational results for the first 9 months of 2021. The company’s main achievements are that it has been able to maintain a position in the Top-4 of financial market players, attract new participants, and improve its corporate governance.
Key results:
- 146% turnover growth within the payment system for the first 9 months of 2021 (compared to the same period of 2020)
- 147% increase in the number of transactions over the three quarters of 2021 (27.8 million in 2021 vs. 18.9 million transactions in 2020)
It turns out that LEO International Payment System holds the position of one of the most actively developing Ukrainian payment systems created by non-bank financial institutions. According to the head of the company, it became possible due to the active work with the participants of the payment system and support for their most dynamic projects.
“I have to confess that 2021 is a year of active business scaling and substantial changes in the company’s management structure: from top management to individual teams within departments. And I am glad to say that these changes are going well,” said Alona Shevtsova, the head of the LEO International Payment System.
The LEO International Payment System calls changes in the rules of the payment system operation another great achievement. According to the new rules, a Supervisory Board was created in the structure of the international payment system. It is led by the third President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko. In addition, these new rules allowed the Ministry of Internal Affairs to collaborate with companies that have received licenses issued by The Regulatory Commission on Gambling and Lotteries.
Already in March 2021, the LEO International Payment System was included in the category of important payment systems in Ukraine by the National Bank of Ukraine. In 2021, the LEO International Payment System became a member of the MasterCard and Visa payment systems. Another important thing is the fact that the share of the LEO International Payment System in the Ukrainian market is 8.5%.
At the moment, the LEO International Payment System has 23 participants, including four commercial banks, as well as 19 of the largest non-bank financial institutions in Ukraine.
