The CySEC-regulated Indication Investments Ltd d/b/a Libertex (www.libertex.com), a CFD and forex broker, is regulated by the Cyprus CySEC with CIF Licence number 164/12. The leading German football club FC Bayern announced today that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Libertex until 2025. The collaboration encompasses marketing activities such as a presence on the LED advertising boards at home matches in the Allianz Arena in Munich.
FC Bayern board member for marketing Andreas Jung: “Libertex is an innovative company in an emerging global market. We look forward to building a constructive partnership with one of the leading online trading platforms for experienced traders.“
Libertex CEO Michael Geiger (LinkedIn), pictured left, commented on the sponsorship: “With over 290,000 members, FC Bayern is the sports club with the biggest membership worldwide. Like their club, the fans are particularly hungry for success, but also show themselves to be fair and level-headed after defeats, which impressed us. We are delighted to be the official online trading partner of Germany’s most successful club with immediate effect.“
FinTelegram reported that in August 2021, CySEC temporarily suspended the license of Libertex. The company has threatened FinTelegram with legal action due to our report on their questionable marketing activities. In May 2020, CySEC announced that it had settled with Indication Investments Ltd, fining the CIF with €160,000 for possibly violating compliance rules (report here).
No financial details about the sponsorship agreement were provided. However, a look at the latest Similarweb statistics of Libertex.com (see graphics above) shows that this sponsorship could make sense. More than a quarter of the website visitors come from Germany, where FC Bayern has a cult status.
