Police and authorities in India make pace with their investigations in the US$300 million crypto-MLM scam around Amit BHARDWAJ and his partners. FinTelegram has been reporting on the case since the very beginning (read our telegrams here). BHARDWAJ along with 8 other people was arrested in Bangkok on March 31, 2018.

A senior member of Pune Police told Inc42 that “the charge sheets have been filed. While one charge sheet related to the Dattawadi police station was filed on June 11, another ‘4000 page-long’ charge sheet is being filed today against the accused, including Amit Bhardwaj, at Shivaji Nagar District Court, Pune.

Amit Bhardwaj, an Indian entrepreneur and founder as well as CEO of the somehow related Crypto-MLM’s GainBitcoin and GBMiners, is a self-proclaimed “cryptocurrency guru and visionary.” Apart from Amit Bhardwaj, the eight others against whom the charge sheets have been filed in the bitcoin scam are Hemant Vishwas, Hemant Babasaheb Chavan, Ajay Tanaji Saheb, Pankaj Srinandkishore, Chandrakant Bhope, and Nikunj Jain and Sahil Baghla of Darwin Labs.

The impact of BHARDWAJ’s crypto-scam goes far beyond India but stretches over other countries and jurisdictions. The Indian cybercrime branch allegedly already identified a number of companies and properties in Hong Kong, Dubai, and other locations.
