At the last Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) hearing in the fraud charges (File No. 2020-14) against David Cartu, Jonathan Cartu, and Joshua Cartu on March 25, 2021, Joshua Cartu did not appear. Nor has he sent a representative, although properly served. Not only the Canadian OSC but also the U.S. CFTC is looking for the Cartu Brothers. The U.S. regulator has brought a fraud complaint (Case 1:20-cv-00908) against the Cartu Brothers for operating illegal binary options platforms that received more than $165 million from investors. While the CFTC and OSC are looking for him, Joshua Cartu posts greetings from Moscow on Instagram.
According to the CFTC and OSC fraud complaints, the Cartu Brothers allegedly engaged in various binary options scams between 2013 and 2018. The OSC mentions BeeOptions (www.beeoptions.com) and Glenridge Capital (www.glenridgecapital.com). In addition, the CFTC additionally lists Rumelia Capital and the payment processor GreyMountain Management Ltd (GMM) in Ireland. Between 2013 and 2017, the Cartu Brothers allegedly processed $165 million in credit card payments through GMM and other entities that victims of the binary options scams had deposited.
Canadian-born Joshua Cartu loves luxury, but evidently, he, even more, loves to show off his luxury life on his Instagram account @jcartu. He loves to present himself to his more than 817k followers in luxury cars, expensive apartments, and airplanes. However, in a statement to FinTelegram, he denied having anything to do with his brothers’ binary options scam. Instead, he would be a successful online gambling entrepreneur and run AEGIS LABS in Hungary (read the report here). A few months ago, Joshua Cartu stopped responding to our inquiries. He also didn’t post anything on Instagram until recently.
However, at the beginning of May 2021, Joshua Cartu posted a photo on Instagram from Moscow. The photo was taken out of a Russian jet, he stated. He has got nerves, has he not? According to whistleblowers, Joshua Cartu is said still to have very many millions from binary options adventures. Well then. Nothing will happen to him in Moscow.
